 Snowshoe hiking in Bad Kleinkirchheim
Enjoy varied snowshoe hikes

Winter and Carinthia: A combination most people would associate with skiing or cross-country skiing. But there is another, maybe even better, way to enjoy nature’s peace and the white splendour’s beauty: during a winter hike or a snowshoe hike.

At the boarder of the Nockberg Mountains you won’t have to search long to find the perfect hiking paths: 60 kilometres of prepared winter hiking trails will take you from Bad Kleinkirchheim directly into the unspoilt natural environment or to the neighbouring towns. Some of the most beautiful tours:

Tour recommendations for winter hikes:

Panorama hiking path: this is an easy tour, which is about 3km long and only has an altitude of a few metres. This tour starts at the church in the nearby Feld am See. It is suitable for prams and can be combined with a round of ice skating on Lake Brennsee during the winter. You will also find various huts and pubs along the way.

St. Oswald circular path: From the National Park Bahn parking this tour is a bit more challenging but also suitable for beginners with a length of 6km and an altitude difference of 200m. You will be rewarded for your effort with interesting paths alongside the water and viewpoints.

Sonnenweg path: A comfortable walk along Bad Kleinkirchheim, always on the sunny side. This tour lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes and is perfect for a first excursion through your holiday region.

You will find these and further tours in the brochure right at our hotel.

Snowshoe hiking

In the old time this used to be a necessary way of transport during the winter, today it has become a sport: Everyone can enjoy snowshoe hiking; you will be able to discover new spots that usually cannot be reached and frankly, walking with snowshoes beneath your feet is quite a lot of fun. If you don’t have snowshoes yourself, we will gladly recommend you one of the skiing schools, which also offer beginners tours to pastures and viewpoints – often combined with a hearty snack, toboggan rides or even a Husky sleigh ride.
