ALPINE RESTAURANT KAISERBURG at 2,025m (open from May until October)

The Pulverer mountain restaurant during summer
Special roast dishes, Kaiserschmarrn with apple puree or sweet plum compote and famers' doughnuts are especially tasty!

Hiking tip:
Stunning panoramic hikes to the nearby summit of Wöllaner Nock (2,145 m) or via the Feldpann Alp (a loop around the Kolmnock and back into the Hotel). Duration: ca. 3.5 hours.

TANGERNER CHALET at 1,715 m (open from early June until end of September)

This alpine dairy chalet with a snack stop offers delicious home-made Carinthian specialties, including various types of cheese and refreshments as well as a large selection of schnapps and liqueurs. For children the playground next to the chalet with free-roaming pets is ideal. Directions: Drive via the Nockalm Road until Sackltratte. Park your car and hike along the Stangbach stream for 30 minutes.

Hiking tip:
This is the ideal starting point for hiking tours to the Turracher Heights and to the Königsstuhl (2,336 m).

KARLBAD at 1,693 m (open from May until October)

Karlbad lies directly on the Nockalm Road and is an historic jewel with over 300 years of bathing tradition. You will be spoilt with home-made smoked bacon, sausages, cheese and Austrian tea specialties, and not forgetting the home-distilled schnapps.

Hiking tip:
Hiking path No. 125 via the Karlnock to the Stangboden or hiking path No. 122 to Lake Friesenhals via the Grosse Königsstuhl (2,336 m).

LÄRCHEN CHALET at 1,670 m (open from May until end of October)

Made from larch wood this chalet with parlour, tiled stove, garden and spikenard bath will spoil your taste buds with fresh home-made butter, cheese, bacon, sausage and bread. Specialties include Carinthian noodles with meat or cheese and the famous Kaiserschmarrn.

Hiking tip:
Take the National Park cable car Brunnach – High altitude hike Mallnock 2,226m –Klommock 2,331m – Steinnock 2,197m – Falkert 2,308m – Lärchen Chalet.

ST. OSWALDER BOCK HUT at 1,900 m (open from May until end of October)

A small romantic alpine chalet in the heart of the Nock Mountains National Park, the St Oswalder Bock Hut features a wonderful terrace in a natural setting with small niches outdoors. Must try: Kaiserschmarrn with cranberries from the wood stove.

Hiking tip:
Brunnach - Red Castle – Predigerstuhl – returning underneath the Zunderwand wall – to the Oswalder Bock chalet.
