Get to know the alp – eating and celebrating at the Kaiserburg mountain restaurant
At Pulverer’s you will enjoy your holiday to the fullest. And not just in the main hotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim. During summer the Kaiserburg mountain restaurant (at 2,050m altitude) is also managed by the Pulverer family. Here you can take well-deserved refreshments after your healthy outdoors exercise in the clean alpine air, while enjoying stunning panoramic views across the mountains. Carinthian specialties and Carinthian delicacies are served - just the right thing to expect in Austria's sunniest province.
If you aren’t secure on your feet anymore or if you would like to take it easy when going up the mountain you can make use of the cable cars and put valuable metres of altitude behind you while enjoying the fabulous panoramic views.
Pulverer hiking tip for summer guests:
The Sunrise hike and Brunnach Heights hike. Both hikes will lead you to the Nockalm chalet. The special feature is only available to Pulverer summer guests.
Sunrise hike with Siegrun Pulverer
For Pulverer summer guests at Thermal world Hotel Pulverer a rather special summer highlight is available: Sunrise hikes with Mrs. Siegrun Pulverer.
You will ride a minibus to the Nockalm chalet at 1,870 m, from where you will hike to the Priedhof (1,963 m) to enjoy a marvellous sunrise with views to Lake Millstatt, Lake Afritz and Lake Brennsee. What a wonderful way to greet the day – sunrise close to the sky. From Priedhof you will hike back to the Nockalm chalet and enjoy a well-deserved lumberjack breakfast, before hiking back down into the valley through forests and across rushing rivers to the Hotel Pulverer. If your feet need a little rest after getting up this early you can also take the minibus back down to Hotel Pulverer.
Brunnach Heights hike
Once a week, provided the weather conditions are good, you can take the National Park cable car up to the Brunnach Heights. From there you will hike 1.5 hours to the Nockalm Chalet to take refreshments and for a break. After tea you will spend merry hours with Chef Gustl who is a very good accordion player. To return you will be picked up by the Pulverer Tractor Taxi – Mr. Pulverer himself will sit behind the wheel.
Kaiserburg hiking tip
After 30 minutes of hiking upwards you reach the summit cross of Wöllaner Nock at 2,150m, from where you will have the most fabulous panoramic view into the Gegend valley with Lake Breen and lake Afritz right there, as well as views into Triglav (Slovenia) in the south and when the weather is nice up to the Grossglockner in the High Tauern!
Alpine restaurant Kaiserburg
At the Kaiserburg alpine restaurant you can taste excellent Austrian specialties and delicacies from May until October. The Pulverer alpine restaurant lies at exactly 2,050m in the heart of Carinthia’s Nock Mountains and only serves regional dishes. The roast dishes, Kaiserschmarrn with apple puree and sweet plum compote, and the farmer’s doughnuts are especially recommended. The Austrian roast pork and diverse noodle specialties also taste marvellous in the rustic ambience of the parlours and beside the open fireplace. The Kaiserburg alpine restaurant can be reached easily via the Kaiserburg cabin cable car, as the restaurant with its large sun terrace lies just underneath the higher terminus. The angular architecture of the building is molded perfectly into the defined rock formation at the summit ridge and can be spotted from afar. You cannot miss it.
After so much talk about hiking and Carinthian delicacies, the urge to embark on a hiking holiday in Austria is growing stronger! Send a no-obligation request for your personal hiking-wellness-holiday at the Thermal world Hotel Pulverer in sophisticated 5-star ambience.
